  • Advising Meta on the enforcement of US court issued injunctions against Chinese entities and citizens via the Chinese courts
  • Representing the Republic of Georgia in securing its first GI registrations in China for several beverage products key to Georgia's national identity
  • Advising Polaris on the first foreign acquisition if a majority interest in a Chinese motor vehicle company under new FDI laws permitting such an acquisition
  • Representing Giordano in the first pretrial injunction application under the Chinese Copyright Law
  • Representing Bayer, Dana, Apple, Siemens, Schneider Electric and McDonald’s in providing joint comments on the draft Chinese Labor Contract Law
  • Advising McDonald’s on all aspects of the set up of its first drive-thru restaurant in China
  • Advising Chinese Ministry of Commerce specialist researchers on antitrust issues arising in association with IP exploitation based on international practices
  • Advising Virgin on the first Sino-Foreign joint venture in the highly regulated radio media industry in China involving China Radio International
  • Advising key members of the SIPO (now CNIPA) on international public relations and treaty obligations involving patent, innovations and trade secrets
  • Advising Apple on all aspects of the opening of it’s first two Apple stores – Beijing and Shanghai
  • Representing Apple in its first design/unfair competition law litigation in Taiwan based on its shuffle ipod design
  • Advising Facebook and Instagram on clickfarm investigations and China/US litigation and document service issues
  • Representing Apple in its first design/unfair competition law litigation in China against Founder
  • Advising Apple on all aspects of the opening of it’s first two Apple stores – Beijing and Shanghai
  • Undertaking the first filings of foreign owned plant variety rights patent applications in China, being for Sun World for grapes
  • The expansion of a European owned clothing manufacturer WFOE into retail branch outlets around China under early unclear regulations on retail outlets
  • Advising Apple on its landmark Project Red deal with Global Fund in China
  • Carrying out Ningbo’s largest raid action at the time, for counterfeit auto parts for a large US auto company, worth over US$200k at the time
  • Obtaining of the first round of approvals and/or waivers under the Chinese encryption regulations for key technology for Apple, General Motors and Dolby
  • Managing the first product recall actions for foreign entities, under the new product recall regulations, for McDonald’s and Apple
  • Preparing the Chinese versions of Apple’s terms and conditions, warranties and user documents for its first range of iPods and iPhone products
  • Assisting as foreign IP lawyer advisor to key members of the Supreme People's Court’s IP Chamber
  • The provision of training to China's CNIPA examiners on international IP issues for IP Australia, as part of the China-Australia FTA negotiations
